Get to Know Us

Beulah's Safe Haven is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Tanya Barnes' mother, Beulah, a beloved business owner known for her generosity in their Mississippi hometown. Inspired by her mother’s spirit of giving back, Barnes is committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive. When she received a call from a homeless child living in her car, it became clear to her that action was needed. At Beulah's Safe Haven, we strive to provide support, hope, and a brighter future for every child in need.

We believe that when we support our youth as a community, together we can create a healthier future for Louisiana.

Mission Statement

Beulah’s Safe Haven empowers young women ages 13 to 25 through our Each One Reach One outreach program. We offer a full suite of virtual and in-person classes focused on job readiness, life skills, soft skills, entrepreneurship, self-love, coping strategies, health and fitness, and spiritual development.

Participants are supported through consistent mentorship and trauma-informed care that honors their lived experiences and helps them build a future on their own terms.

At the heart of our healing work is the Healing Garden—a therapeutic space where young women grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs while learning sustainability and agricultural skills. The garden also offers a quiet space for reading, reflection, and reconnection with self and nature.

We also host Unmute Your Mic, a virtual, anonymous support group that gives participants a safe and brave space to speak, be heard, and find solidarity through peer dialogue and professional support.

Our Keys to Freedom course provides biblically grounded guidance for emotional healing and spiritual growth, helping young women confront strongholds, build confidence, and walk in purpose.
